- I think it is safe to conclude that this was the most entertaining “Fight Night” card ever. Not a single televised card was bad and all were extremely exciting fights.

- Melvin Guillard rocked Diaz in the first ten seconds of the fight. From there it looked like Guillard was back in his pre-drug use form. After that punch Nate appeared to want the fight to remain on the ground and for the most part the fight stayed on Nate’s turf. Guillard did look strong in the second round but then he was felled by his old nemesis, the guillotine choke.

- Nate Diaz looked far from impressive besides the submission. There was a strong chance that Diaz was staring down a third loss in a row. Not a good thing, even for a former TUF champion.

- For the first two rounds Roger Huerta and Gray Maynard fought on their feet. An interesting strategy for Gray considering he is a wrestler and Huerta struggled with Florian and Guida. Just before Maynard took the fight to the ground I thought Maynard was going to go all Sean Sherk on us. Thankfully he didn’t.

- Someone tell me how in the world Roger Huerta’s arm isn’t still inside the Octagon? It looked like we were about to have our first decapitation in the UFC.

- When Goldberg explained the reason why Huerta hadn’t fought in 13 months he said, “Roger’s been very quiet and away from things.” Those are some nice code words Goldie. I think the better description is this, “Huerta wants to be an actor or get paid like a champion. Neither is going to happen.”

- No post-fight interview for either Huerta or Maynard though it was probably due to time constraints. Goldberg tried to give Huerta a farewell right before the decision was announced. Guess that means no more Roger in the UFC.

- Interview break with Rich Franklin who refreshingly tells the truth about the UFC’s initial announcement that Franklin would fight Dan Henderson at 103. It was a shit idea but Rich didn’t quite use those words.

- Jake Ellenberger absolutely destroyed Carlos Condit in the first round. It was so bad I was getting ready to write my “the WEC welterweight division SUCKED” post but Condit proved why he’s ranked in the top-ten. Carlos rebounded with a solid ground game to beat Jake via split decision.

- Leon Roberts should probably get an award for referee of the year for not stopping the Ellenberger-Condit fight in the first round. Twice Condit went into the fetal position but wasn’t done as he quickly rebounded.

- Condit came out of his corner in round two with a giant wad of Vaseline on his head. At least I hope it was Vaseline.

- Condit is still struggling with his takedown defense. If he doesn’t improve that part of his game he’s going to have some serious trouble breaking into the top-five of the division.

- The crowd did not like the fact that Ellenberger lost but Jake has probably found a home in the UFC.

- Who knew that Nate Quarry vs. Tim Credeur would be a brawl worthy of Griffin vs. Bonnar?

- Nate Quarry appears to be the new Scott Smith. At the very least he has the “get your ass kicked then land a huge punch” strategy down pat.

- Jordan Breen and Josh Gross were hating on the Quarry-Credeur fight on Twitter. While not the most visually appealing fight it was roller-coaster fun.

- Goldie said it is a prestigious to be an Ultimate Fighter winner. Mac Danzig, Amir Sadollah, Travis Luetter and Kendall Grove would disagree.

- Kenny Florian admitted to being fat on the first season of The Ultimate Fighter. Big Mac’s do that to you.

- Dollaway may have won via unanimous decision but he did got dropped by Jay Silva, a guy who may not have been UFC ready. What does that say about C.B.?

- Huge Upset Alert! Brock Larson was cuddled to death by Mike Pierce. Larson was a favourite at -650 and Pierce was pulling +450 odds. Larson’s 26-2 record (his two losses were to Carlos Condit and Jon Fitch) just lost some of its shine.

- If Nover’s seizure wasn’t a sign of bad things to come I don’t know what is.

- The first fight of the evening ended in controversy. Jordan Breen went after the Oklahoma referee saying, “Love to see a local ref ruining fights from the get-go. Boomer, Sooner!”

- Steve Steinbeiss was trapped in a guillotine choke by Ryan Jensen. Steve gave the thumb’s up to let the ref know he was okay. Unfortunately the ref is an idiot and thought that meant, “I quit.” I guess he is from Malaysia or something.

- Actually Gary Ritter, the referee in question, is a boxing ref. Epic fail.

- At least the ring side doctor didn’t screw up with Justin Buchholz’s cut. Jeremy Stephens wins by bleedage. Now if they could only get that cage side doctor to be on TUF…

- Jamie Varner was also pissed that his boy Steve Steinbeiss lost. Varner instantly put up this picture on Twitter with the caption, “Steve just got screwed.” As long as a cornhusker didn’t do the screwing Steve should count himself lucky.

- Kenny Florian was in the house in the stead of Joe Rogan who was off filming a movie. So its okay for the announcer to take time off for a movie but not a fighter? Just being snarky.
